Happy 148th Birthday Canada!

Celebrate Canada

Canada is more beautiful than ever! The best part about Canada are the 35 million people who live across the 10 provinces and three territories!

Let’s face it. Sometimes we get caught up in our day off and plan to take it easy watching TV or chilling without thinking about our beautiful country. I’ve been guilty of this.

This year, let’s make it the best Canada Day ever.

Luckily, most of us get the day off work. That means put down the laptop and smart phone unless your calling friends and family to come over for dinner! Family, friends, food and fireworks this is how I’m going to spend my Canada Day!

Celebrate with Canadian Food

Did you know Canola oil is Canadian? The name comes from “Can” as in Canada, and “ola” as in oil! The plant was bred by Canadian scientists, Dr. Baldur Stefansson and Dr. Keith Downey, at The University of Manitoba.

Celebrate Canada’s oil and use it in your Canada Day celebration meal.  I’ve included a broiled wing recipe below but if you are taking it outdoors you can easily take your pan to the grill.

How many Canadian ingredients do you think you could incorporate into one meal?
