Make, Bake and Give {Part 1}

Maple Coconut Granola Zannat Reza

We’ve asked a Registered Dietitian and two Professional Home Economists what they will be Making OR Baking OR Giving this holiday season. Find out what’s on their lists below.

Super Seedy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Super Seedy Cookie Nita Sharda | www.canolaeatwell.comThis holiday season I’ll be baking and giving away my latest cookie creation: Super Seedy Chocolate Chip Cookie.

Everyone seems to have a go-to chocolate chip cookie recipe. Finally, I have one to call my own.

Finally being able to perfect this recipe was a great feeling but one that certainly came with a lot of epic-fails and me wracking my brain to problem solve. The issue was I kept getting a cookie that was too dense and too “hard”.Nita Sharda RD | www.canolaeatwell.com

After altering the recipe (five times) and most importantly decreasing the baking time, I got it. Thankfully I had a tribe of wonderful people to help me along the way.

On the holiday note: I love to prepare food. So when I give food. I’m giving a lot of myself (my time, my heart and my love).

Nothing says “I’ve been thinking about you” more than a handmade gift showcasing your unique talent.

I’ll be sharing my love of gathering and drying herbs and wild edibles by creating custom tea blends and spice blends for friends and family.

Homegrown the Cookbook

I’m giving Homegrown to my peeps because I’m so thrilled to be a part of such an important Canadian cookbook, the recipes rock and it’s written by professional home economists so you can trust that the recipes will work, as long as you follow our instructions. And with all of the tips and info I’m hoping that we can now create a Canadian Food Trivial Pursuit game together!  Mairlyn-Smith-Square-300x300
