What We’re Lovin’ for January

Staying Warm from the Inside Out

It’s a brand new year with brand new faces and partnerships on the Canola Eat Well blog.  We’d like to welcome Simone Demers-Collins a Professional Home Economist with the Alberta Canola Producers to our monthly What We’re Lovin’ column.

January is a time to reflect, stay warm and feel the love.  This month we are talking heart health, warm smooth skin and warm beverages with a touch of sweetness.

Plus an extra special {Giveway} just for you!

Tiber River Pillars What Ellen’s Lovin

Oh, baby it’s cold outside {Giveaway}

Winter and dry skin can be an itchy combination.  My solution is to go to Tiber River Naturals for hand and body lotion.  I love the variety of products and how smooth it feels on my skin.   It’s my favorite local shop.  Their products are great and their pillars really connects with me.

And I am proud to say that they use canola oil in their products supporting local MB canola farmers.

We want to share the love of soft skin and invite you to enter the Tiber River {Giveaway} below.

What Simone’s Lovin

The Heart Truth– a program emphasizing the importance of women taking care of their health in what they eat, how they deal with stress, and in the exercising that they are doing.

Taking it to Heart event in Edmonton, AB on Monday, February 3: 6 women chefs cooking gourmet heart-healthy food; 3 female local designers designing unique red dresses worn by women involved in heart health and event MC Mairlyn Smith of CityLine. Tickets are available at EventBrite.

What Jenn’s Lovin

Warm up from the inside out with a cup of tea and Manitoba honey.  I’m lovin’ Manitoba Rooibos Tea blend from Cornelia Bean with a smidge of Wendell Estates Honey.

When you visit Cornelia Bean you enter another world.  The old creaky wooden floors and heavy door remind me of another period and the smell of tea and coffee takes over as you embark on your tea selection journey.  They have so many to choose from that it’s almost hard to pick just one.  For me I always go back to my favourite, Manitoba Rooibos.

Every warm beverage can use a touch of sweetness and Wendell Estates Honey is so good you can eat it right off the spoon.  You can order direct online or take a trip into St. Boniface, Winnipeg and visit Constance and the staff at Constance Popp Chocolates at 180 Provencher.  Their shop carries a supply of honey as well as a delicious selection of handmade chocolates and treats!

Be Well…Ellen, Simone & Jenn
