What We’re Lovin’ for March!

What We're Lovin for MarchWhat Wendy’s Lovin’

Popcorn – I hadn’t had popcorn in a long time but it seems to be popping up everywhere (no pun intended) lately. First I tried out our Middle Eastern Popcorn recipe in January which I suggested for awards season, then in February I sampled three unique flavours made by Chef Brent of Culinary Team Manitoba at the My Be Well Story launch. His citrus beet, caramel bacon, and apple pie creations left me wanting more. Fortunately, we have eight different popcorn recipes to try in our recipe database, such as the chili lime popcorn that is next on my list. Click here and type in popcorn in the search box to see both sweet and salty flavours you can try.

Summer Runs — It’s only March 1st and I’m already seeing signs of spring. One of the first signs is registration for spring and summer runs are starting to open. I have a few favourites I do each year like the Run with Porter and Run for Rights but this year I’m also looking to Colour Me Rad that is holding its first Winnipeg event in July. I’ve heard a lot about this 5 km event that is popular in cities across the US. What makes this run unique is that all runners are colour bombed, making it a feel-good event and their charity of choice is Camp Manitou.

National Home Economist day  – On March 21 I want to thank all the Home Economists in my life that have inspired me; Jenn Dyck, Simone Demers Collins, Dorothy Long, Marilyn Smith, Judy Fowler and the list goes on and on.

What Jenn’s Lovin’

Eating together as a family – it’s just what we do in our home.  We eat at least one meal a day together as a family.  We sit down at the table, turn off electronics and enjoy our meal.  We talk about our day, share stories, ask questions and enjoy a homemade meal.  We set the table together and when possible the kids will help in the kitchen.  “Food is about emotion and memories” ~Mary Jane Feeke.  I agree with Mary Jane and you can watch her Be Well Story here:
