Mary Jane: Food and family go hand in hand. A meal made with fresh ingredients lifts the human spirit. Food is about emotion, it creates memories. It not only nourishes your belly but your soul!

I don’t know what to cook, what should I do?
Mairlyn: I’ve always been a big fan of eating fresh, local and seasonal. Those all mean high quality foods. Use seasonal produce for an explosion of flavours, colours and creative ideas for dinner.
I encourage you to cook. Do not be afraid in the kitchen. Eat healthy, seasonal, Canadian food when possible.

Why is growing and harvesting your own food important?
Getty: By being connected and being involved you gain an understanding and appreciation of what goes into that food. People are indeed interested in our local produce. It’s about so much more than food; it’s about connections, connections with people and connections with community.
