Focus on the Fun!
We are all very comfortable and want for very little, but I still want to give some awesome, thoughtful gifts. This year, I’m going to give fewer “things”, focusing more on fun experiences and tasty consumables. As always, I hope to keep things as local and handmade as possible.

Homemade Caramel Sauce
When it comes to homemade gifts, I’ve given up the macaroni art and scrap-booking and decided on mastering the art of homemade caramel sauce. It’s ridiculously easy to make and this variation infuses a little chai concentrate for more of an exotic, warming flavour. You can pour it into small mason jars, screw on the cap, add a bow and your friends will think you’re amazing! I know mine do! Anyway, this caramel sauce is what I’m giving this year! Long live homemade caramel sauce!
If you want to go crazy, drizzle it over an Apple Chai Bundt Cake or Apple Galette.

Bake a Chocolate Cake, and eat it too!
My son’s birthday is on Christmas Eve, and we pull out all the stops to ensure his birthday is extra-special so that the excitement of his special day doesn’t get lost in the bustle of the holidays. Each year we bake the same chocolate cake together….sometimes there’s even a little left over to share with Santa!
