Horseradish and Grainy Dijon Marinated Steak

A simple to make, yet complex in flavour marinade that combines the mild heat of horseradish with the rich flavours of Shiraz wine to infuse steak with a punch of flavour. Grill this steak at your next family barbecue but be sure to double the recipe for second helpings!

  • Ingredients
    • 1/4 cup canola oil (60 mL)
    • 1/4 cup Shiraz red wine (60 mL)
    • 1/4 cup prepared horseradish (60 mL)
    • 2 Tbsp grainy Dijon mustard (30 mL)
    • 1 Tbsp chopped Italian parsley (15 mL)
    • ¼ tsp salt (1mL)
    • ¼ tsp pepper (1mL)
    • 4, 8 oz sirloin steaks (250 g)
  • Directions
    1. In a mixing bowl; add canola oil, wine, horseradish, mustard and parsley. Whisk to combine.
    2. Pour marinade into a plastic resealable bag and add steaks.
    3. Seal bag and ensure steaks are evenly coated in marinade; place in refrigerator for 4 to 6 hours. ).
    4. Remove steaks from bag and discard any remaining marinade.
    5. Preheat barbeque. Lightly oil grates before grilling steaks.
    6. Grill to desired doneness.
