Recreating space with art makes my heart smile
It took me a while to make my home office be beautiful. While the space would be described as functional it was lacking in personality. I’ve curated it to be a beautiful area with things that inspire me to be creative, calm and thoughtful. I have rearranged my space to look out the window, brought in soft lighting (backlight for all those zoom calls) and surrounded it with things that mean something to me. Pictures like a unique painting from my mom, a bird because you need a bird, a candle, some books on the go, little trinkets and pieces that have a connection to someone special or it is to remind me to smile!
What’s in your work space?

Sharing Baking
This holiday season is going to be different whether we like it or not. While we may not be able to get together like we used to, it is not going to stop me from baking and sharing!
I love these two simple recipes for Spicy Ginger Molasses and Sugar and Spice Cookies. Oil is not traditionally the fat of choice when making cookies but rather butter. I prefer to use canola oil because I always have it on hand, it is economical, Canadian and my nutrition brain loves that it is lower in saturated fat.
Baking is my happy place, and while I may not be able to share the holidays this year with everyone I love, I can share these cookies. Happy holidays!

Ice Cream Subscription
View this post on Instagram
Yup, you heard that right, I have an ice cream subscription and I love it! Each month I have two pints dropped off on my doorstep from a local artisan maker that has the most unique and delicious flavours. If you are in the Winnipeg area, I highly recommend this delicious delivery program from Chaeban Ice Cream. If you are in another area…well, get Winnipeg on your travel list and be sure to stop in for an “ice cream tasting flight” when the world allows us to move around more freely and safely. Check out my IG post where I shared my tour of Chaeban back when they first opened. I love learning about the people behind the products!
