What Ellen’s Lovin
We love our Weber grill!
My husband does most of the grilling and our web, ok his web, is always BBQing something delicious. There’s a bit of patience that comes using a charcoal grill. It’s a form of ritual in starting the charcoal in the chimney, heating up the grill, and then comes the long and slow cook for pulled pork or a quick cook for a 6-minute homemade pizza. Everything that we make on it turns out great using our Weber.
The pizza dough recipe that we use on the BBQ is from Canola Eat Well. It’s simple, delicious and works everytime.

Favourite Summer Recipes
It has been a hot, hot, hot summer in Ontario. I truly love the heat but cooking over a hot stove can be a daunting task that get’s old, in my opinion. The only way I find it manageable is to turn on the oven as little as possible and bring back those favorite, summertime recipes.
I am sharing a collection of my favourite summer recipes that are either no-cook or have a short cooking time and will not overheat the kitchen:
Summer Sun-kissed Tomato-water Vinaigrette with Olives, Cucumbers and Grilled Haloumi
Vegetable Summer Rolls
Angel Wings Pasta
Grilled Grapefruit and Chicken Salad
Black Bean and Edamame Avocado Salad

Summer Sunsets & The Big Prairie Sky
This summer, like so many summers past, I’m soaking up as much big Prairie sky as I can manage. Every chance I have to get out of the city limits, take in a sunset, or watch the clouds roll along I’m game. Here is one of my favourte summer sunset photos to date taken at our summer cabin. Where do you capture your favourite landscape photos?
