Simple charcuterie platter for holiday entertaining or what my father would have called it a cheese and meat plate. It’s simple but elegant and easy to put together.  My favorites on my platter include Wendell honey, a stinky blue cheese, a great white cheese and brie cheese, all Canadian please! And of course some mild to spicy cured meats.  Oh, you can’t forgot the olives + a few crackers and a great French crusty bread. Serve a glass of wine with friends over laughter.  Share stories and take the time to celebrate over the holiday season.

Simple Holiday Baking

Over the years I’ve gone back and forth from baking lots and lots to hardly baking at all. For me, it’s about getting into the mood and creating space to really enjoy the process. Some years that happens and some years that just doesn’t and I’m ok with that. Sometimes I only bake the old favourites and sometimes I try a brand new to me recipe. Last year, I included these Chocolate-Dipped Orange Cardamom Pecan Cookies and they were a huge hit! I baked them together with some friends in my kitchen and again with my family. The taste of them is still on the tip of my tongue and I’m looking forward to making them again this year.
