The weather has warmed up and I have been craving salads like crazy.  Make ahead salads with ingredients that can stand up to dressing without getting soggy are my go-to for quick and delicious lunches and dinners.  Team up with a protein and you have a quick, veggie packed, and nutritious meal that you will be excited to sit down too.

Make Ahead Frozen Marinated Meat Packs

Are you going camping, heading to the cabin or want quick at home meals to BBQ this summer? Here’s a quick make ahead solution that will have you wondering why you haven’t been doing this for years!

Pre-package your meat of choice (pork tenderloin, boneless skinless chicken thighs are my family favourites) in large resealable freezer bags into the portions needed to feed your family. Before sealing your bags: Mix up your favourite canola oil based marinade, pour into the bags, seal and flatten. The flattened bag will thaw faster when you need it plus it stacks better in your freezer. The canola oil helps to disperse the flavours and pre-oils your meat for the grill. These easy to grab and go bags will have you spending more time on the beach or in your yard and less time in the kitchen.

  1. Simple, canola oil is my go to choice in the kitchen. I used it to make pizza last night.
