What Ellen’s Lovin

Everything that is Summer

Do I only get to pick one thing this month? I can’t. I am so excited for camping, boating, swimming and just being outside as much as possible.  You will find me someplace in Manitoba, exploring the trails, catching fish, pitching the tent and creating family memories under the prairie sky.

Celebrations

We are celebrating in July – all those birthday parties, casual backyard barbeques, and get-together’s that had to be put on hold until we could all be together again.

I will be busy in the kitchen making all our summer favourite dishes like potato salad, bean salad, and birthday cake while Nik will be on grilling duty.  I hope you too can also take time to celebrate and share with family, friends, and neighbours and enjoy getting back together with all those loved ones. Happy July!

What Jenn’s Lovin

Snip, snip, snip

It’s no secret that I’ve been stitching up a storm this past year. I’ve also been spending more time on hand stitching projects and realized I needed a scissor upgrade for sniping all those threads.

I had been following LDH Scissors online for a while and decided to indulge on a pair of their snips. I’m in love. They are sharp, crisp and easy to transport. Their entire line of stunning (and functional) scissors are designed in Toronto, Canada and crafted in their family’s factory in China. LDH is a proudly immigrant, female and family owned business – and I’m an exceptionally happy customer.

Give them a follow and dig into the stories, you will not be disappointed. It’s so inspiring learning from others that are truly passionate about their craft. Fun fact: LDH stands for Love Dedication Happiness.

  1. Camping by the lake, cooking over a campfire, being out in nature, visiting with family — summer is not long enough!

  2. Like my summers to include a few afternoons in grandstand seating at our local thoroughbred racing track (Woodbine).
