Science

Stained Glass | www.canolaeatwell.com

Learning about science from Bob MacDonald on Quirks and Quarks.  The radio or podcast program covers the quirks of the expanding universe to the quarks within a single atom and everything in between.  I love listening it with my kids and one of my favorite parts of the show is the questions from the listeners.  One question recently was asked  “Do trees radiate heat?”

What Jenn’s Lovin

Brunch

Waffle with Berries | www.canolaeatwell.comIf I’m going to host a large family meal it’s usually brunch. It can be as simple or elaborate as you want and I always serve it buffet style so that everyone can load their plate with the items they love. With so many options, what is your go-to must have brunch menu item?

Tell us below for a chance to win a Canola Eat Well prize package!

For me, it’s a great waffle and my secret tip is to separate your eggs! Beat the egg whites in their own bowl and fold them into the batter at the end to make your waffles extra fluffy! Don’t waste the yolks – just toss them in with the other wet ingredients as you make the batter.

What Lynn’s Lovin’

Spring vegetables make me very happy

Green Green Salad | www.canolarecipes.ca

I love the juicy, peppery crunch of garden radishes, the fragrant touch that a sprinkling of spring onions add to any dish, fiddleheads  – the rare edible shoots of the ostrich fern, and my favorite – the young tender shoots of  asparagus drizzled with a homemade herb vinaigrette.

Homemade vinaigrettes are really easy and simple to make. Once you have made your own you will be saying bye bye to those bottled ones for good!

  1. either waffles and strawberries and whipped cream with bacon or
Mexican wife saver with fresh fruit.

  2. My must haves are eggs (usual requests are scrambled or pan-fried) AND bacon! Never get tired of it!

  3. My go to lunch brunch menu item is chicken and sweet potato quesadillos with salsa sauce. So yummo! 🙂

  4. I love to make a large brunch of eggs poached in a mushroom marinara sauce with cheese added, served on top of toast.
