TV Watching with Snacks

Bruschetta Popcorn with Sundried Tomatoes | www.canolaeatwell.com

Confession, I have been watching more television than ever before.  I love anything British (British Bake Off), funny (Schitt’s Creek) and even educational.  Here are my top four TV watching snacks to elevate your experience and satisfy those taste buds.

Lime and Chili Pepper Popcorn – a crunchy, satisfying spicy treat.

Beet Pesto Dip – a twist on the classic pesto.  Delicious with veggies, crackers or warmed pita bread.

Crispy Chickpeas and Pumpkin Seeds with Lime – super yummy and satisfying.

Hummus – a classic all time favorite!

What Jenn’s Lovin

A great book

I’m usually a summer and beach vacation reader but right now, I’m reading all the time. A few of my recent favourites include; City of Girls by Elizabeth Gilbert, Untamed by Glennon Doyle, From the Ashes by Jesse Thistle, Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens and Educated by Tara Westover. Now that I’ve downloaded the Goodreads app I find it even easier to keep track of what I want to read next. My favourite audio book of the year was by far A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman. What is on your reading list?

Discovering family food traditions and the stories that go with it. Crispy Hakka Wontons | www.canolaeatwell.com

It’s exciting to learn more about your own culture and the food that unites it together and it’s fun to learn about other cultures.  Food is one of those universal languages that unite people together.  I love reading about it in books, watching TEDX talks or supporting #takeout from a restaurant.  With more time in the kitchen, I have the opportunity to learn from people like Nick Liu and create their recipes at home for my family like his Crispy Hakka Wontons.
