What We’re Lovin’ for November

Le Creuset | www.canolaeatwell.comLe Creuset

All I want for Christmas is a Le Creuset pan – maybe like this one for making and baking bread.  It’s on my Christmas list.

I have always wanted to make crunchy, chewy bread and one secret is making it in a Dutch oven.

Does anyone want to share their secret recipe?

What Jenn’s Lovin’

Pomegranates

What’s not to love about a fresh in season pomegranates? I know, I know, cutting them open and harvesting the delicious interior.  Well look no further, I’ve found a method that has kept my kitchen in less of a mess and more intact yummy bits in my salads and on my yogurt.

Farm to School Veggies

Farm to School fundraiser | www.canolaeatwell.com

In Manitoba we have an excellent veggie fundraiser that was initiated by the Manitoba Association of Home Economists.

Schools, day-cares and school programs can sell bags of fresh seasonal veggies; carrots, potatoes, onions, parsnips and cabbage to raise funds for their initiatives.

I love that it gets fresh veggies in the homes of our youth and hopefully into their bellies as well!

My favourite go-to green cabbage recipe right now is our Carefree Cabbage Roll Casserole (recipe below).
