What Lynn’s Lovin’
Tomatoes
Tomatoes from my garden make me so happy! A simple tomato sandwich, a plate of sliced juicy tomatoes, basil infused tomato sauce, spiced chili sauce, or a fall harvest caponata – let’s make the most of summers harvest while we can. Try some of my favorite tomato recipes from our Canola Eat Well recipe collection.

What Jenn’s Lovin’
Corn, Corn and more Corn!
This smokey corn chowder is a crowd pleaser and has been making the rounds on my table since last month. A secret flavour enhancer tip that was shared with me from Erin and Dara of HowtoEat.ca is to leave the cobbs in the soup pot for the simmer. The added flavour that is released from the stripped cobbs takes the soup to the next level!

Cooking on TV
I’m excited to share that September marks the 30th season of Great Tastes of Manitoba – a cooking show that celebrates the Prairie food landscape while sharing practical tips for your kitchen. It is always an annual highlight for me to cook with the hosts and share delicious conversations with the viewers.
Did you know: The Great Tastes of Manitoba is the longest running cooking show in Canada!?
Tune in this fall on CTV Winnipeg or watch for segments being shared online to catch the newest line up.
To celebrate the 30th, I’m sharing recipes from a few of our canola community members:
Oct 5 – Savor the Flavour with Canola Oil: recipes from RD Nita Sharda RD, Chef Andrea Buckett and RD Erin MacGregor.
Nov 23 – We-“Can-ola do it” features the awarding winning veggie book recipes from HowtoEat.ca. The book is a partnership with Peak of the Market, Manitoba Association of Home Economists and Manitoba Government.
