Christmas Concerts

Salt Dough Decorations

I know it’s crazy but I do love watching my kids perform on the stage singing their hearts out with their peers.  It’s a rite of passage that I celebrate rather than groan over.

Get into the holiday spirit and go out to a Christmas concert and celebrate what the season means to you!

Family Holiday Traditions

What do you do with your family or for yourself every year that makes the holidays extra special? Is it an activity you do together, something that you wear, a song that you sing, a special food dish that you make or perhaps it is just the huge task of getting everyone together for a meal?

My family is famous for its jelly salads.  It wasn’t until I was a grown adult that I realized choosing to make and eat jelly salads is a bit odd.  For us, it’s tradition.  Turkey dinner would not be the same without Tomato Aspic, a three ingredient dish (Campbell’s Tomato Soup, Lemon Jell-O and water) or our Green Jelly Salad that combines sweet lime jelly and canned pineapple with the savory flavours of green onion, celery and cottage cheese all together in a beautiful crystal bowl or jelly mold.

Cheers to holidays with your families. When is the next pot luck?  I’ll bring the jelly salad.

Eat well…Ellen & Jenn
