Why use canola oil in homemade spa products?

Many online recipes are using coconut oil to make body products but did you know that canola oil can be used too? Canola oil contains vitamin E, it’s easily absorbed, neutral in scent and it’s our local Canadian choice.

Body Salt Scrub

Salt Scrub with Grapefruit zest | www.canolaeatwell.com

Materials:

1/2 cup Epsom salts (125 mL)
1/4 cup canola oil (60 mL)

Directions:

  1. Mix Epsom salts and canola oil together in a bowl.
  2. Transfer to a resealable container and label.
  3. To use: Rub the mixture over your body then rinse. As with all salts, do not rub on a wound as it will sting.

Tip: Try adding dried herbs (mint or lavender) or fruit zest (grapefruit, lemon, lime) for a refreshing scent!

Note: Can be stored for up to a month.
